Online casino software companies have experienced a great increase in their business the past years. Companies like CryptoLogic, Playtech or Microgaming, are the main providers for the whole industry, and almost any big online casino uses their software. However, since BetFair announced their project on creating their own software, these companies fear other online casinos will follow BetFairs example, and they will be left without clients. President of CryptoLogic, Mr Rose, said that unlike BetFair most casinos lack the internal expertise required to power their own software, for they need to outsource this issue.
Online betting site BetFair recently announced their plans to develop its own in house poker software, which would power all their poker sites. If they manage to create their own software they will not need to outsource it any more to CryptoLogic, which today powers all their sites, for the company is afraid to lose such account, and other companies fear the domino effect this might have in the industry.
