Since the previous casino was destroyed by the hurricane Katrina, there was a lot of debate about whether to rebuild the old one or to add some more cash and build a better and newer casino. Pinnacle Entertainment, the owner of the casino, which is one of the major casino gaming companies in the United States, eventually reached their decision and has made it public that they are going to build a new casino in place of the old one.
They further states that they might use some of the insurance money coming to them from the previous casinos disaster and use it to build the new casino in Missouri. This new casino will be named the River City Casino and Hotel and it is estimated to cost about four hundred million dollars to build. It will be designed according to early St. Louis architecturial styles as well as those which appeared in the world fair during the forties.
