The Bellagio Gallery of Fine Art in Las Vegas will present an exhibition of the American photographer Ansel Adams. The exhibition entitled Ansel Adams: America will be open from May 3 to May 6.
The exhibition will include about 50 photographs from 40 years of work. The photographs to be exhibited in the Bellagio Gallery were personally chosen by the artist before his death in 1984. Amongst the artworks to be presented are his famous photos from Yosemite National Park and significant selections from his private archive.
According to Andrea Glimcher, the President of the Bellagio Gallery of Fine Art, Adams exhibition is the first important art show in Las Vegas to be wholly dedicated to one of the most important American photographers in the history of photography.
Ansel Adams was born in 1902 in California, where he lived his entire life. He is one of the most important photographers of American landscape. He is also responsible for establishing the photography department at the Museum of Modern Art in New York, which was the first museum department in the world dedicated to photography.
